Adopting again!

yes, I am adopting again.
Jonathan is wanting to have a brother or sister and in July, I decided to adopt again. At this point, I have been pre approved for 0-2 years old from Ethiopia. We have had one home visit and need another to finish up our dossier for submission. I did not specify the gender as I know that I will love the child that the Lord gives me.
I am not good at updating this site but you are welcome to friend me on facebook for more updates.
PS. Jonathan is now 4 years old, he is learning spanish and talks up a storm. He loves riding his bike and is really into trains, cars, and action figures. He is all boy!! I am thankful daily for the priviledge of being his mother. I am truly blessed.

Fun in the Sun

well I thought I would post a few pictures of our vacation in May and since then. of course I posted them in reverse order!

Jonathan in his new Buzz Lightyear PJs. Let me tell you I have a hard time getting him to take them off so I can wash them.

It has been hot and our small pool comes in handy for playing in the water. sometimes he just strips and jumps in!!

In Portland on vacation, having fun at the park.

More fun at the park in Portland!

Went to the Children's Museum and they had an old train out front. Jonathan was so excited!!

Here we are on the Street Trolley in Portland. Jonathan was so excited because it is all trains to him!!

At petting zoo outside of leavenworth. Jonathan had a great time feeding the animals and running around!. This is the bunny cage but several of them were empty. we did see some wild bun-buns which were hiding out under the peacock exhibit.

Jonathan sitting on the couch at the condo in Chelan. Having a snack and watching a movie!

Jonathan with Aunt Joyce, riding a "horsey". This isn't as scary as the real thing!!

3 years old!

Jonathan turned 3 in may and he has been having a great time ever since. Here is a photo of his birthday party at daycare. We actually did his family birthday party the week before his birthday and his daycare birthday party the day before his birthday then we had cake with friends on his birthday! Whew!
Jonathan wanted Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. He has been flying through the house ever since he got them.
We went to Chelan for a vacation the week after his birthday and it was the week of rain! It actually wasn't too bad in chelan but not the typical sun we had hoped for.
Last night we went and watched the Fireworks display over the Columbia River. Aunt J and Cousin Rachael and Papa were there along with Uncle B's extended family. Jonathan kept saying "Oh Wow!".
Today he is pretty tired but we had a good time. More later...

more photos

Jonathan, my mom and I traveled to Chahalis, WA for a friend's wedding. We met up with my friends who worked with me in Honduras. All our families have grown since then and it was fun to introduce our children to each other. I wish I had taken more pictures but had my hands full keeping track of Jonathan.

Tim and Dulcie K, with their family. Tim and Dulcie worked in Honduras with me before they had children. It was great to meet their youngest.

Nathanial, Tim, Ella, Benjamin, and Dulcie K. Great friends and I really had a good time catching up.

Dawn C. and her parents. Dawn also worked in Honduras with me. She was a beautiful bride and her wedding was in an old big barn. I got to meet her new husband Brian and hope we can reconnect again soon.

Grandma went along to help keep track of Jonathan.

My sister and her kids came over for Spring Break this year. We really enjoyed having them here.

My Aunt Donna and Uncle Phil went to lunch with us after church that sunday.

Jonathan at the restaurant with everyone. He actually fell asleep before we even left the restaurant. All that excitement finally caught up with him!

Jonathan loves stickers and loves to put them on his face.

Here he is putting stickers on his cousin, Rachael!!

NOVEMBER HAPPENINGS!!

This month was a full month with Jonathan's readoption scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving. Readoption is just the term for filing Jonathan's legal paperwork from Guatemala so that his name can be changed and he can get his american birth certificate. The Judge, Dennis Yoel, is an adoptive parent himself and he is retiring to spend more time with his family.
Jackie Stam is our lawyer and orchestrated the events of the day. She made it a pleasurable experience.

Jonathan was a bit restless but played with kleenex as a good diversion while waiting for the judge to show up.

Family and friends that came to the courthouse to see Jonathan have his day in court. We really appreciated everyone's support and love!

So I thought you would like to see some of Jonathan's new tricks. He loves to climb and sit on mommy!

He likes to put on his sunglasses even though he doesn't quite get which way is up!!

And did I forget to say he is climbing?!!! Yep, I think I took him off the chairs about 100 times this day!! Visions of lacerations and sutures were dancing in my head!!
